KIPP is rapidly expanding in Houston, relying on numerous portable classrooms across multiple campuses. To reduce energy spending, staff needed a way to manage HVAC and lighting remotely, particularly when spaces were unoccupied.

The Solution

Partnering with ABM Building & Energy Solutions, KIPP deployed Autani’s EnergyCenter. The wireless platform offers intuitive scheduling and remote management for multiple locations.

WIRELESSLY MANAGED THERMOSTATS AND LIGHTING

EnergyCenter controls 370 lights and 234 thermostats across the campuses. HVAC setpoints and lighting schedules include automated setbacks and time-outs for unoccupied periods. Schedules can be set for each portable or copied across all classrooms.

With EnergyCenter, KIPP remotely monitors and controls each networked portable classroom, reducing energy consumption and saving money.
